Wow. People are setting up entire Wikis devoted to themselves now? When did this start?

The phrase ‘entire wikis’ seems to reflect a massive misunderstanding of the concept of ‘wiki’

I meant: “an entire website specifically devoted to running wiki software for the sole purpose of collaboratively disseminating information about oneself.” Help me out here on what I’m missing. Please and thank you.

I think the confusion between you two is the difference between the wiki page and something like a personal wiki. I believe topherchris is speaking of the latter.

A wiki is not a huge enterprise. ‘wikiwiki’ means, effectively, ‘thrown together real fast’. The concept of a wiki is to make it easier to throw something together without taking it seriousely. Instead of having an actual page, you have a wiki. I know many people with wikis; it’s like having a markerboard on your dorm room door.
