Hyperbole
It is kind of embarrassing when a person hears a song you wrote about them and gets the wrong impression that you’re a really intense person, when in actuality you’re pretty normal, it’s just that singing something like “You’re all I’ve ever wanted” has a better ring to it than “You’re pretty cool and I like you enough to want to date you at least for a little while unless it doesn’t work out, which is totally fine.”
This post is the best thing ever.
I fell in love with Allison Weiss’ music the first time I saw her live. If you ever get a chance. do.
