The design flaw of Tumblr is that the ‘browsing’ mechanism overlaps with the ‘creating’ mechanism. This undermines Tumblr’s prime value to creators- the ease of posting, which disappears and becomes a weight when the post board becomes a television. This is excepted in those areas where Tumblr permits re-creation/collaboration, where the creation becomes conversation: text posts.I’m (temporarily) unfollowing you, because my Dashboard-checking habit is an overpowering impulse lately, and I feel out-of-control. I’m looking for a little peace and quiet, a break.
